What is a MasterBond Warranty?

The MasterBond Warranty is an insurance-backed guarantee that offers a safeguard should your builder cease trading.There are four levels of cover which provide consumers with a choice both in length of protection and in cost.

These are as follows:

MasterBond 2
MasterBond 2 is a two year insurance cover which incorporates a six month ‘all risks’ element and an eighteen month period of structural protection.

MasterBond 6
MasterBond 6 is six year insurance cover which incorporates a two year ‘all risks’ element and a four year period of structural protection.

MasterBond 10
MasterBond 10 is a ten year insurance cover which incorporates a two year ‘all risks’ element and an eight year period of structural protection.

MasterBond was one of the first and is the largest scheme to be part of TrustMark.
TrustMark is a government endorsed scheme which promotes high quality standards of workmanship.

All MasterBond builders Must:

	Have a minimum three year trading history.
	Have their work inspected by an independent assessor every 3 years. All new members will be inspected prior to their membership acceptance by the MasterBond Warranty Scheme. This is the only scheme in the UK that inspects building companies in this manner.
	Builders who wish to join the scheme have to provide 6 client references including a professional reference from which at least 3 are confirmed by our Membership Department.
	Have passed independent financial checks.
	Have met with local FMB Branch approval.
	Have public and employer liability insurance.
	Have no un-discharged bankruptcies or relevant and outstanding County Court Judgments against company directors at the time of application.
	Are VAT registered if applicable.
	Have passed credit checks, public record and director checks.
